Selection by alloy, part geometry, target hardness and distortion budget. Iloquench 1 for general high-speed quench, Iloquench 21 for delayed quench (low distortion), Iloquench 25 vacuum grade. Drainage and oxidation life monitored via specific tests beyond standard oil analysis.

Iloquench 400 (martempering) is the industry default — it controls distortion by holding the part just above M-start before air-cooling, then tempering.
