Castrol Ilocut and Honilo neat (non-water-mixed) cutting and grinding oils for high-precision and high-load machining. Ilocut series covers single-point turning, broaching, gun-drilling and thread-cutting where flood coolant won't penetrate. Honilo grades for creep-feed grinding, thread grinding and gear grinding. Sulphur-chlorine and sulphurised-fat additive packages selected by metal and cut severity.

The Castrol India catalogue maps neat oils to the operation, not the machine: Ilocut 154 / 155 for general-purpose machining (with Ilocut 330 as the chlorine-free universal and Ilocut 103 for high-tensile steels), Ilocut 1253 / 334 / 534 at low viscosity for deep-hole and gun drilling, Ilocut 11 and Variocut B 30 for broaching and gear cutting, Honilo 980 / 981 for honing and superfinishing, and the Variocut G series for neat grinding — G 399 thin oil for high-speed steel grinding, G 408 HC for carbide, G 600 HC and G 650 HC high-flash grades for creep-feed. One data-sheet column prevents most mistakes: the copper-corrosion stripe class — 1a/1b grades are yellow-metal safe, 4b/4c grades carry active-sulphur EP chemistry that stains copper and brass.

Neat oils are the right choice when you need maximum lubricity for heavy-duty operations (broaching, gear cutting, deep-hole drilling) or a superior surface finish (grinding, honing). Water-mix coolants are better for fast-paced high-volume machining where cooling matters more than lubrication.
